Sent to me by a friend of a friend of a friend who lives in Gallatin, Tennessee. Quite a few of my friends and colleagues live in this area of the world. I have a friend in Hendersonville who watched it from a mile away.
This first hand report is from a Centurion colleague named Lance : "We are OK...our neighborhood was one of the one's that was directly hit, but our home was about 30 yds. from the path. We only lost part of our deck, some shingles, yard furniture, etc. All of that can be fixed...praise the Lord our family is safe."
I see that Brian posted recently, so I presume everything is ok in his hood.
Reminds me of a cross stitch still hanging in my mother's house: "Life is fragile, handle with prayer."
Hey Jeff! Thanks for thinking about us. Yes, we made it through ok. Most of the really bad stuff went north and south of us. The closest tornado was about 10-12 miles north and it didn't actually touch down.
However, my brother had a closer call. He's about 45 miles south and one of the tornados which killed someone passed within a mile or so of his house.
We just praise God for his mercy and grace. We know that there is no reason we deserve to escape unscathed while others did not.

I have always enjoyed storms. I sat on the porch with my father-in-law and watched the storm come in. Having heard the weather reports, everyone knew it was coming. We went inside when the hail started. No funnel cloud, although some were reported.

Here is in SW Virginia the storm amounted to a severe thunderstorm with hail -- no tornadic activity.

You are never again allowed to use the phrase his/her "hood." We are all far too old, white, and unhip to use that sort of language. ;)
Some day, I'll show you the pictures of the tornado that hit us in 1999. My wife and I got displaced by this one, but fortunately, neither of us was injured, and except for our cars, we really didn't lose anything of value.
