I can tell you guys have been hanging around this blog for a while.  Please keep up the excellent discussion on global warming, worldviews, epistemology, and morality.  This is better than a Pigfest.  I wish I had time to join in.  I just had to cherry pick a few comments that ... well ... brought a smile.

Lookie there ... The Dawn Treader made Evangelical Outpost's top 100 Christian blogs.   The Point, one of the group blogs I contribute to, also made the list.

My excursion into blogging began in 2004 when I was in the program.  Several of us in the program decided to try blogging to see if it was an effective medium for engaging culture.  The group blog started with a bang ... and then tapered off.  I enjoyed the experience though.  I set out on my own and started the Dawn Treader hoping to make a difference for the kingdom of Christ.

Evangelical Outpost (Joe) and the Jollyblogger (David) are my blogging mentors, and have inspired me by their excellent writing and Christ-centered thinking.

My journey in blogging began on June 2, 2004 with a post about the face of agnosticism.

Covenant College has had some historic pranks.  But Covenant blogger, Josiah Roe, and Chattanooga accomplice David Gidcumbs (Gid is on my blogroll), deserve a hearty hats off for pulling one of the best pranks I have seen in a long time.  The victims?  The hate machines known as Wonkette and Daily Kos ... lefty politiblogs that pull more traffic in one day than The Dawn Treader will see in one year.  This prank even made it onto Brit Humes Political Grapevine for April 5th.  Congratulations, gents!

These boys (Roe and Gid) prove just how easy it is to use or misuse the internet to influence tens of thousands of people.  Exciting, and scary.

J.A. Greer commented on my reflective blog post "Journaling about life, and making it interesting is hard, which is why I don't think folks really do it."

I think that is a valid point.  With a written journal, which no one but you and God ever sees, you can  get away with vapid entries.  On a blog, however, there is a little more pressure to spice it up and make it fun for others to read.  Life is not always that interesting ... I concede that point.

However, some people seem to have a knack for writing introspective posts about what God is teaching them and letting us read their thoughts.  An example is Steve Addison at World Changers.  Check out his post What Am I Learning?
