"I guess politics has been civil up to this point"

On what planet has /that/ been the case? The political discourse hasn't been civil in a very, very long time, at least not on the national media stage. In fact, Palin has been one of the worst examples of NON-civil discourse, leading off with her 2008 convention speech. (Maybe disparaging community organizers is "civil" in your lexicon, but it isn't in mine.)

I found it ironic that the Huffington Post is now declaring civil war. They think Fort Sumter has been fired on.

What they don't realize is that we have already been in a Civil War politically speaking. It is not Fort Sumter. It more like Gettysburg by now.

I was being facetious about things being civil up till now. I'll add a winkie face ;) next time.
