Truth.  The world is starved for it.  The Bible reveals it.  Become equipped as a Centurion and learn how to teach others to think with a Biblical worldview about all of life.

Nice write up in the Baltimore Sun on Mr. Colson and the Centurions.

He [Colson] blames Christians — not the ’60s counterculture — for ceding cultural primacy to moral relativists. “As a result of Christian fundamentalism in the 20th century,we lost engagement in the world of ideas,” he said.

The class [Centurions] offers tactical ways to open people’s eyes to Christianity. He advises the students to shun the term “fundamental” in favor of “core,” or “central truths,” or other more neutral terms that will not automatically conjure up images of a “backwoods, Bible-pounding idiot” when talking about Christians or the Christian faith.

Winning the culture is so important to him because politics will never solve the world’s problems, he said. “We are living in an age of political illusion that is a result of the death of truth,” he said. As a result, it’s impossible that “the messiah is going to come through the political process.”

It's true folks.  The political process won't change hearts.  Science won't change hearts.  Technology won't change hearts.  Education won't change hearts.

Acceptance of true truth changes hearts.  Living out truth changes lives and communities.  Hope is found in God's grace (common grace and saving grace) operating on the hearts of men.

Enjoyed seeing some old friends and making some new ones this past weekend.  It was a Centurions weekend in D.C.

Here were the personal highlights.

I just received the list of the 2006 Centurions.  The class is huge.  One hundred twenty-six in all!  My class was around 100, and the second class was even less than that.

Just a brief glance at the list of people, where they come from, and the positions of influence they hold .... has me very, very pumped.

Sadly, there were some names were missing from the list.   These bloggers would make absolute uber Centurions (kind of mixing metaphors there, I realize ;-) )

Back in May, I read a Breakpoint essay by Chuck Colson that addressed the problem of pride.  However, it opened a possible misunderstanding about the role of faith.  Melinda at STR posted on it.  I also posted my concern.

I decided to ask Chuck Colson to clarify what he meant by "beyond the intellect".

Mr. Colson responded.

Breakpoint has a great shout out for the Centurions program.  As a 2004  graduate of the Wilberforce Centurions program, I am thrilled to see how God is using this program and my fellow Centurions.

The time to go public with a Biblical worldview is now.  One hundred of us were released into culture to be intentional about challenging other Christians to think holistically and Biblically about all of life.  Another hundred Centurions are being trained this year.  The folks in this program are serious, talented, and full of faith.  They are actually crazy enough to think that God accomplishes BIG things with a faithful few.  Look out.
